A2Z Scrapbooking will be the new Hero Arts digital retailer, and to celebrate the collaboration, we're having a blog hop. If you're just joining the hop, you can start at the Hero Arts blog.
I made a couple of cards using a few digital techniques. Here's the first one:
I used the Sunshine Flowers cutting files and digital stamps. Instead of cutting the jumbo flower, I clipped a Just Jaimee digital patterned paper to it in Photoshop. If you wanted a one-layer card for mailing, the clipping technique is the way to go. The sentiment was die-cut on my Cameo out of white cardstock. I used two spray mists to watercolor a gradient on the die-cut.
I added some splatter over the flower to give the flower some shimmer.
My second card is a little more masculine:
For this card, I used the Firmament set and a few different digital techniques. I started with a digital patterned paper and stamped the falling stars with the digital brush. Next, I stamped some of the sketchy stars, rotating the brushes and resizing them.
After adding the sentiment from the same set, I printed two copies. I trimmed the stars out of one of the copies and added them on top for some more depth:
I also printed one of the stars on vellum and added it to the bottom corner. I love the added translucency of printing on vellum.
As part of the hop, there's also a giveaway! A2Z Scrapbooking is giving away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky commenter. The winner will be selected from all comments on the blogs, so the more comments you leave, the better your chances. The giveaway ends on Sunday, August 31st at 11:59 ET.

Oh, WOW! These are amazing!!! Love!
ReplyDeleteI ADORE the BIG BOLD bloom on your first card!
ReplyDeleteThe coloring on the flower is amazing and I love the dimension on your star card - the background paper is perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! Thanks for the details on how you created them!
ReplyDeleteI love these! That first one is so cool, I love all the color/texture of the flower, bold, but soft too and love the stars and stitching on the second one!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the stunning "Watercolor look" floral cards that you crated in Photoshop! I have never been able to figure out that program, but I am not about to give up, especially after seeing some of the very unique ways you gals used it today with the digi images. I have always created my Hybrid cards using Microsoft Word, but it doesn't have so many of the features that Photoshop does, so I am now looking to find a great online class that teaches PhotoShop to beginners...if you happen to know of any -- please let me know! Thanks for the fabulous inspiration..I love using both digital with cut files and traditional cardmaking and I'm so excited that a2z is now selling Hero's Digital Line! :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Absolutely beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteFun fun! I am so trying watercolor lately -lovely job! Both creations are beautiful!
