Be Yourself

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday. Thank you for your kind comments about my new design team. You all are the best!

This week at Glitz, there's a color challenge--light pink, light blue, gold, and white. The digital team is also sharing projects using the Wild and Free Paper Pack and the Wild and Free Element Pack 2. Both of these kits are on sale today as part of One Buck Wednesday. Woo hoo!

The color challenge was optional for the Digital DT, and I decided to play along:

Be Yourself

I love making round cards, and I decided it was time to make another. I die-cut the base, added some pink and gold mist, and layered papers. I used a pink and yellow paper and the horses paper from the Wild and Free Paper Pack. For both papers, I lightened the papers to fit with the color scheme. The blue bokeh and pink stripe paper are from the new Carpe Diem collection.

For the die-cut, I used the "Be Yourself" digital element:

I'm sharing the image so you can see what it looked like before. I selected the letters and removed the color (hit the backspace key). I saved the image and opened it in the Silhouette Designer Studio. I traced the image and die-cut it out of both white cardstock and PTI's Linen Vellum.

Here's a close-up:

Be Yourself

For the finishing touches, I die-cut the flowers using Paper Smooches Flowers Dies with wool felt and the same vellum. These dies are a must-have! I love the different combinations. I stitched through sequin for something a little different. ;)

If you like the die-cut and papers, you can check out the One Buck Wednesday sale (today only). Also, there are more projects using these collections on the Glitz blog today.

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Good News! (and a Sneak Peek)

Hi everyone!

I have some fun news to share today:

I was asked to join the Scraptastic Club Design Team! I've been very excited to share the news. Paper, stamps, and embellishments? Oh yeah! :)

The Club offers monthly kits--one for Project Life and two for scrapbooking/cardmaking, plus add-ons for each kit. They also have awesome stamps and PL cards designed by Kaitlin Sheaffer and other regular shop items, too.

I've received my April kits, and I have to say, the Scraptastic kits have a TON of product (I was impressed!). I think they have great range, too--papers, stamps, die cuts, Thickers, enamel dots, cardstock, ink, flair, and some of the most wicked-cool wood veneer and cork embellishments. I know I like having a little of everything for making cards and other projects.

Here are the sneaks for the upcoming April kits. First is The PL kit, This Life Noted:

I love that there are some exclusive items in the kits, but also a lot of very current products (so I can use them for publication submissions).

Next, is the Let Me Go kit:

Look at that cute custom cork! Woot!

The last main kit is Worth Wondering:

Aren't the colors beautiful? I love the flair.

The kits will go on sale April 1st, or if you would like to see about the subscriptions, you can check it out HERE. You can also see projects with the March kit on the Scraptastic Club blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Sunshiny Day

Hi everyone!

This week on the Glitz blog, the digi team is sharing projects using the Sunshine in My Soul collection. I don't know why I have never used this collection before, but it is gorgeous! If you hurry, part of this collection is on sale at Jessica Sprague for One Buck Wednesday.

Here's my hybrid card:

Hello Sunshine

For the front panel, I used ink pads to watercolor the background, and then I added splatter on top. For the grouping, I resized and fussy cut some of the elements from the Sunshine in My Soul Element Pack. I used the bird paper from the SIMS Paper Pack 2 and cropped it to fit in the frame. Isn't the bird cool? I love it! I had to add a little stitching, so I stitched through the sentiments.

The butterfly is die-cut from glitter cardstock using the Leanna die from Simon Says Stamp. Here's a close-up:

Hello Sunshine

I layered some of the Sunshine in My Soul papers underneath as well as some tissue paper to add some texture in the layers. I think I've used tissue on almost every project in the last six months...I love it! :)

I'm linking up to a couple of challenges. First, the CAS-ual Fridays Shades of Grey. I used four shades of grey on the card--the dark silver splatter, the grey on the frame, the grey on the bottom layer, and the silver butterfly.

I'm also linking up to the Simon Says Stamp Glitter It challenge for the glittery butterfly.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Chocolate Easter Bunnies

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great week. I was in Mobile last week for work, and I still feel like I'm catching up. ;) I did want to share my Glitz project that was on their blog last week.

I'm in Easter mode now, and I made three treat hybrid treat boxes:

Easter Treat Boxes

The Glitz Color Me Happy collection has mostly rainbows, but there are some pastels in the collection, too. I used the CMH Element Pack 2 for the yellow paper base and die-cut it with a Sizzix Milk Carton die. I was inspired to tie the cord like THIS pin.

For the tags, I made all three all three almost the same. I layered some die-cut papers and cut the bunnies out on my Cameo. The woodgrain paper is from the Color Me Happy Paper Pack. I love how it looks like chocolate. :)

Here's the blue one:

Easter Treat Boxes

I used the Color Me Happy Paper Pack for the blue paper and lightened it just a pinch. [Don't you love the technical terms? Ha!]

Here's the pink one:

Easter Treat Boxes

For the pink carton, I created my own patterned paper by stamping the paper with the woodgrain digital brush in the Element Pack 2. I had to stamp the brush about 5 times to make it large enough, but the woodgrain is pretty forgiving for lining it up.

You can check out how the rest of the Digital Team used this collection on the Glitz blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
