Stamp School Day 3

Happy Thursday! Three days in a row--I think that's a record for me! My son woke up with pink eye this morning (again!)...I'm hoping that no one else in the family gets it. Yuck!

I'm back as the Guest Designer for Stamp School. The June release is tomorrow, and Wedded Bliss and Down the Aisle sets will be available here. As part of the June release, Stamp School is releasing three new colors of cardstock from Bazzill and matching felt. I used one of the colors, Jawbreaker on today's card:

I stamped the frame, bells, and sentiment and then colored them with Copics. The cardstock base is debossed with a Taylored Expressions woodgrain impression plate (A Walk Down Memory Lane is selling TE now!). It's hard to see in the pictures, but here's a close-up:

Okay, it's hard to see the debossing in the close-up, too...just humor me.  Isn't that little frame too cute?

Stamp School Day 2

Happy Wednesday! I'm excited to share my card for Day 2 of my Guest Design Team post for Stamp School. Day 1 was here.

For today's card, I decided to show a non-wedding use for the stamp sets and I wanted to show the store's awesome cardstock, too. Here's the birthday card I came up with:

To make the chevrons, I cut what felt like 100 1/4" strips and glued them to a cardstock backing. Then I die cut the strips with the MFT chevron die. I was trying to get them to line up just right so the darker orange was in the center, but I think I would have had to cut 3/16" to get it to work. I love these cardstock colors!

I stamped the cake from the Down the Aisle set and overstamped the sentiment from the Wedded Bliss set to make it a birthday card. Here's a close-up:

Happy Tuesday! Anyone still reading? LOL!

I've been asked to be a Guest Design Team for Stamp School this month. Woo hoo! Stamp School is a newer  stamp company that is owned by the owner of my LSS, A Walk Down Memory Lane. The photopolymer stamps are fantastic--they stamp beautifully!

In June, Stamp School is releasing two wedding sets. I'll be showing sneak peek cards for the next three days. Here's what I came up with:

I started off with patterned paper and dry-brushed over it in watered-down white paint. I stamped over the whitewash. The dress is paper-pieced and I added some pearls like a wedding dress (although my own wedding dress didn't have a single embellishment--I was CAS even in my wedding). Here's a close-up:

I finished off the card by inking the edges and sewing a border. I actually managed to sew a straight line--yeah!

The stamps will be released on Friday. Stamp School also carries heavyweight cardstock and matching inks and wool felt. I'll be showing more this week! Thanks for looking!

Wish I was At the Beach

Aren't the bags gorgeous? My card was based off the striped bag on the left--I liked the rainbow stripes and the beach bag look. Here's what I came up with:

I used 5 different dotted papers from Pink Pueblo's Dots Digital Papers and Beach Brushes available at Print Candee.

This is the process I used for the background:
1. Open a new A2 file in Photoshop (although you could do this in Word, too)
2. Open the digital paper and crop a portion of the paper. Here's what the full size paper looked like:

3. Copy the strip onto the A2 file and move as needed.
4. Repeat for each color. Be sure your strips are the same size. Here's what the background looked like:

The card above is one way to use the background, but I made a second card with the same background (enlarged) and a chevron mask:

I love how all the white space, and I thought the Paper Smooches sentiment was perfect!


I'm in Alabama right now for work. Everyone is so polite....someone carried my binders for me and another brought me my lunch...I could get used to this! LOL!
