I'm Not Sure What These Are, But I Love Them

Hi Everyone! I can't believe it's been a week since I posted. My husband, daughter, and I went to Minneapolis for a few days for my daughter's first Irish Step Dancing competition (I've never seen so many wigs in my life). I did get to go to The Paper Source--swoon!--love that place.

Anyway....a couple of weeks ago, Aly with Truman Studio released the new Rhapsody digital kit over at Two Peas. As soon as I saw one of the papers, I gasped first, and then  proceeded to make this card:

Those leafy/medallion/flower images were part of a sheet of patterned paper. I lightened the white in the background of the paper to have a white outline when I fussy cut. Then, I enlarged the patterned paper, printed it, and fussy cut the leaf-things.

For the rest of the card, I used a digital brush to stamp the Kristina Werner sentiment onto the lacey patterned paper.  Here's a close-up:

I think part of why I liked this paper is it has purple. I'm usually not a super-huge fan of purple, but I find purple patterned paper hard to find. Is it just me? If you know of a great collection with purple, please share!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Supplies
Patterned paper: (purple background, leaf image from Rhapsody collection) Truman Studio; (green lace from  Bellflower Papers) Adrienne Looman, both kits available at Two Peas in a Bucket
Digital brush: (sentiment from Card Frames and Sentiments) Kristina Werner at Two Peas in a Bucket

  2. Oh what fun! Love the colors, and you're right, I don't really have any purple patterned papers. Must be one of the reasons your card stands out so well : ) Such digi-goodness here!

I'm not sure what they are, either (art-house peacock?) but they look awesome on this card!

  8. Irish step dancing! That's so cool :)
And whatever those thingys are called, they are awesome. Totally gorgeous & detailed. FWIW, I have trouble finding nice purple papers too - what is that about? And if you do find some, it is the HARDEST colour to match, bar none.

  11. This is so beautiful Jocelyn! The detail on that paper is incredible, really clever to trim out and mount just part of it! I love purple, it's my favourite colour (all hues of it) so I really wish there was more of it around!

  15. It's another stunner Jocelyn! Love those purples... and yes they are hard to find. Would you believe I did 'scottish highland dancing' for 8 years when I was growing up... I reckon if you can dance to bagpipes then you can dance to anything lol! Sounds like you had a blast!

  20. Gorgeous! Purple patterned paper is very hard to find. I just found some today, actually - I was thrilled! It's Graphic 45 'Secret Garden Sun Kissed' - it's more of a lilac. ~Angie
