The Pick-Up

Hi everyone! Today is my first day as the May Guest Designer for Paper Smooches. Eek! I have been so excited about it.

For my card today, I used three of the new stamp sets released today:

It's supposed to be a boy fry trying to pick up the girl fry. My husband didn't get it--he thought "sup" was a shortened version of "ketchup." Then I felt like a dork explaining the card to him. ha ha

I created a mask for the eyes and then stamped over the eyes with the fry boxes from Think Fast. I added the mouths from the same set. The bow tie and hair bow come from the Retail Therapy set--that bow tie always makes me laugh. It's hard to tell, but I fussy cut the fry boxes. Now I'm not quite sure why I did, though. Does anyone else ever accidentally make extra steps?

I finished the card by stamping the sentiments from Slang Gang.  The sentiments are hilarious in this set! Here's a close-up:

Kim is showing my card on the Paper Smooches blog HERE. If you wouldn't mind, please stop by and leave some love. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

  4. I thought sup being part of catsup was an extra play on words, which I wish I was clever enough to do when sentimenting cards!

  5. So funny and cute Jocelyn, love the big eyes and cheesy grins :0) I actually like to cut out images I've coloured with promarkers even if Im going to flat mount them... Think it gives a neater finish!!

  15. This is a fun card! Love the bright, primary colors! And yes, I often make extra sets for myself. Quite often as a matter of fact.

  16. Oh I HATE having to explain my cards to my husband ... then I start to second guess everything. He would totally make a comment about ketchup too! Love how your bow is on the boy fry and the girl fry. And yes, I fussy cut when I don't have to ... mostly when it's late and I'm afraid I'd mess something up if I stamped right on the base. But now that I'm thinking of it, I guess I could always fussy cut and put a new one on top if that happened ....

OK, so YES, I DO apparently waste my time on such things : )

  17. This is another 'lol' card for me, but the process and your husband not getting it added extra lol! I think it's fine to add extra steps if you are happy with the end result. :-)
