I was looking through the Print Candee store, and I ran across some vintage advertising (love!). Old advertising always makes me laugh, and there was one image in particular that made me chuckle for days. So, I made a card incorporating it:
I kept it simple and cropped the image and changed the image to a grey-scale. Once I printed the image, I selectively colored it with colored pencils. Here's a close-up:
But it's not just a card, I added a gift card holder in the inside. How much easier is it to make money than to get free money? Ha! (I crack myself up.) Here's the inside:
The Advertising Ephemera is from Fancy Dog Studio available at Print Candee. I paired it with some fab Pantone's Spring Color Polka Dots patterned paper by Head's Up Girls. Seriously, this paper pack is a must-have....all of the Pantone spring fashion colors...oh yeah! The damask paper for the gift card holder is from the Cabaret Pink Fun set.
In February, Print Candee will be releasing coordinated kits. Fun! I'll be back later this week to show my project.
Have a great week!
Hilarious Jocelyn! What a fun gift card, awesome DP's, but it's that fab image... I must go look for myself!! BTW - great colouring too!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love your goofy sense of humour! :) Brilliant card - those papers rock - and I like your selective colouring too.

ReplyDeleteJocelyn, this gift card holder ROCKS!! What a fun idea for using this vintage ad. And those bright colors? Just the eye candy I needed on a snowy winter morning!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that image, and it's perfect the way you've selectively coloured it. So much fun for a gift card holder.

ReplyDeleteI LOOOOOOOOVE that vintage advertising! LOOOOOOOOVE the papers--so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Vintage ads crack me up, too! When we first bought our house, it came with a really old oven. The burners were like drawers that could be pulled in and out. The previous (and original) owner left the manual with us. There is a hilarious photo of a June Cleaver-ish woman in a dress and heels (of course) with a crown on her head standing and smiling by the stove. We got rid of the stove, but kept the manual just for the laughs! Ha ha ha!!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors!! Supa cute!!! Hugs..xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis is just so fun -- the great image, the bright colors, the gift card ;) -- love it!
