Our Home to Yours

Hi everyone!

I'm up on Neat & Tangled blog today sharing a card and quick tutorial.

Here's the final card:

Our Home to Yours

I used three different Neat & Tangled sets to make this card: Simple Christmas, So Very Blessed, and Time Warp. There are step-by-step pictures on the Neat & Tangled blog that show how I combined the different sets.

After I was done stamping, I dry embossed the panel with a PTI Woodgrain plate--I love the subtle texture. I finished the card by adding glitter to a BasicGrey die-cut, a sequin from the Classic Christmas Sequin Mix, and some spray mists.

Here's a close-up:

If you want to play along, the Little Tangles team has an embossing challenge right now. You can check it out HERE.

Sadly, this post is my last one for Neat & Tangled. I wanted to give a shout-out to Danielle for being an awesome leader. Thanks for asking me to be on the team, Danielle! *hugs* Also, thank you to my fantastic and supportive teammates! You all are a super talented bunch!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Gold, Gold, and More Gold

Hi everyone!

Madeline and I are on the Scraptastic Club blog today with a new challenge: Get Glittery!

Here's my take:

Shine On

I used my new camera and 35mm lens. I'm probably the only one who can tell a difference, but so far, I'm loving it (I'm still getting used to it).

On the card, I used the September This Life Noted kit. The kit has an awesome "Shine On" journaling card, and instead of using the whole card, I die-cut it. I layered the circle on some of the Crate Paper Notes & Things ephemera in the TLN kit.

The glittery clip is from Inspire Lovely. *swoon*

Shine On

I managed to stitch an actual circle....not an oval, not a square, but a circle. Yeah! Then I went around a second time to wonk it up a bit.

When I was done with my card, I thought it needed one more gold, glittery item. I die-cut the Leanna butterfly from gold glitter cardstock:

Shine On

If you're making cards projects with glitter this week, link it up to the challenge! You can use glitter in any kind of way, and you don't have to use the Scraptastic kits to play along. You can enter HERE.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Trio of Scrappy Cards

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great (long) weekend. Where on earth did summer go?? I always love fall, though. :)

I'm up on the Scraptastic Club blog today, and I'm sharing a card set with layered embellishments using one of the September kits:

Scrappy Card Trio

I started by picking the Teresa Collins and Pink Paislee background papers and then die-cutting various papers from the kit with several different dies (scalloped circles, hearts, butterflies, Polaroids, envelopes, tabs). I die-cut enough for about 10 cards. Ha!

The Girl kit and Add-on have some fabulous embellishments, and I was able to layer those with the papers. Their kits have a ton of product--I'm always amazed!

To simplify the cards, I kept the layouts almost identical for all three cards. Here are some close-ups:

If you get a chance, please check out the Scraptastic blog and kits. The September kits went live yesterday, and you can check them out HERE.

You Cast a Spell on Me

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I nearly had a panic attack when I realized today is the last day of September--how did that happen? Crazy!

Anyways, I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog today. :) Here's my project:

I went very CAS to emphasize the cute kitties from the Newton's Antics set. I colored them with Copics, fussy cut them, and popped them up to add a little dimension. I added the hat from the wizard in the Magical Dreams set and a sentiment from the same set.

Here's a close-up:

Under the kitties, I printed a digital paper and die-cut it with a heart border. I used the White Linen cardstock from Ellen Hutson--I'm addicted to the little bit of texture it adds.

If you get a chance, check out the Newton's Nook blog. Jen shares cards almost daily. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Boo Crew

Hi everyone! It's release week with Newton's Nook Designs!

We're sharing two new stamp sets this week, and they're pretty neat-o. You'll be able to buy the sets on Friday at the NND store.

Today, I'm sharing treat bags I made using the Boo Crew set:

I started by coloring and fussy cutting the bear image from the set. Isn't he cute? To make the bag, I die-cut the treat bag and stamped candy from the Boo Crew set in Versamark.

I placed the bear on the box, but it didn't look quite right. I realized it would help to die-cut a window to see the candy. It's always good to see candy. :)

I made a second box using patterned paper. Here they are together:

The tag has a sentiment from the same set. I think I'll make a few more for my kids' teachers. Do you make handmade Halloween treats for your kids' teachers or classes? Please share--I'd love to get some ideas. :)

If you'd like to win a free Boo Crew set, here's your chance! Comment on the Newton's Nook blog and comment on each of the design team's and guest design team's blogs. You have until 9pm CST on 9/12 for a chance to win.

Be sure to check out the rest of the team's creations!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a super day.

Material Girl Birthday

Hi everyone! For those of you in the U.S., I hope you had a great 4th of July! My sister-in-laws' family is in town, and we spent the fourth with them. My brother-in-laws' family will also be in town this weekend, and my kids can't wait to see their cousins.

It's Friday, and time for another CAS-ual Fridays Challenge:

This week's challenge is to use material on your clean-and-simple projects (including felt, fabric, canvas, etc.).

I used both felt and canvas on my project:

I started by die-cutting the My Favorite Things' Winter Rose dies in ivory and pink felt from Felt on the Fly. Using the Limitless Layers Hearts dies, I die-cut a heart out of canvas and one from patterned paper.

I layered all of the elements on some lightly distressed patterned paper and stamped the Boutique Borders sentiment. Here's a close-up:

If you would like to play along with this week's challenge, the winner will receive a gift certificate to Ellen Hutson.

You can link up your creations HERE.

ETA: I'm linking up this card to the Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. If you get a chance, be sure to play along!

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

Yippee!

Hi everyone! Just a quick post to share some good news.

I made it to the Top 20 of Paper Crafts Magazine's Gallery Idol contest. Yeah!!! On Thursday night, I pulled up the Paper Crafts Connection website on my phone and had it ready to go for Friday morning. As soon as I woke up, I checked my phone, and then had to contain my excitement so I didn't wake up my kids. Yeah, it didn't work--I woke up my son. :)

So....here's the card:

It was one of those never-ending cards that I worked on a few minutes here and a few minutes there over several days. The circles are die-cut tissue paper, and I added a few die-cut stars and sequins. For the sentiment, the "Magical" is a digital sentiment from Robyn Meierotto, and I added the rest of the text.

As part of the contest, I'll be sharing my Round 2 card tomorrow and asking for your vote. Eek! I'm excited and nervous about it. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week.
